Strider PR (Pettit Races)

Sun, Dec 4 is a GOOD DAY to HAVE A PR!!!  A Pettit Race that is!

We're doing both a 5K distance and a One Hour run off-season mojo on a super fast track (Hint: no wind/no hills)

We are going to run as far as you can in one hour! Sure, you may wish to compete against the runner for you (and how much fun is that!) but you are also going to push yourself farther and faster than you ever have just because you know the clock is clicking...down!!!!

But wait -there is even a third option?!?!? We have a "virtual" Outside running option. This is for the people that don't necessarily like running inside in circles but want to support the great causes associated with this race, want the cool Strider PR shirt, and want to enjoy the post run party.  Pick up shirt either at the Pettit on Sun, Dec 4 or at the Strider's Candy Cane Lane Fun Run on Sat evening, Dec 17. If you need alternative options, please contact the race director at

And new this year, we've added a kids runs of 1 lap around the track! this will take place immediately after the One Hour Run at approximately 10:10 am

7:15 am – Registration and Bib Pickup for 5K race
7:45 am – 5K race
8:00 am – Registration and Bib Pickup for one hour race
9:00 am – One hour race
10:10 am – Youth Race - 1 lap
10:20 am – Post Race Party!

5K and One Hour Race Registration is $25 through Sat, Nov 26 and $30 through Fri, Dec 2.  Race Day Registration is $35

Virtual Races are $20 and Kids Race is $1

This race is one of the many ways Striders support our local charities. Our race will be collecting new toys for the Milwaukee Rescue Mission to distribute to local boys and girls in the Milwaukee area. Please bring an unwrapped toy to help make these holidays a little nicer for a kid in need.

*** participants are asked to bring an unwrapped toy that will be donated to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission and be distributed to local children. Cash Donations will be accepted too for anyone not able to shop ***
Greatest needs are the $10 to $15 gifts for Boys and Girls ages 10 – 13. Suggested gift ideas include watches, wallets, jewelry, handheld games, and remote control cars. No gifts will be turned away. Thank you!

Aid Station: Runners must bring their own water bottle because open cups are not allowed near the track due to spillage concerns. There will be water bottle storage tables at one end of the track staffed by volunteers who can refill your bottles with water or Gatorade.
Portable Music Devices: For safety reasons, headphones will not be allowed on the course. Music will be played over the speaker system by Scott and requests WILL be considered so think of a song that will motivate you and make your request at the venue.

Overall Awards for 1,2,3 Male and Female in 5K and One Hour
Age Group awards for First place with 10 year groups

Sweet Treats for the Kid Participants

Participant will receive a short sleeve tech shirt - multiple color options to choose from.  Come early on Race Day to pick your shirt!

Runners will be given a medal tag and tie wrap to attach to your shoes for counting of laps.   Our DJ will try to announce your last laps for the 5K and do a countdown for the One Hour Race.  The One Hour race will determine winners based count of full laps only.  In case of tie the tie breaker is when last full lap was completed.

Tags need to be returned at the end of the races, and volunteers will be available to assist
