South Shore Half Adds Buffs and Perfect Weather in 2017
South Shore Half Marathon recap:
What a great day it was! Mother Nature responded to order our first time Race Director placed for nice weather in a huge way…it couldn’t have been better. We would like to take a moment to thank everyone that participated in all aspects of this day – runners, volunteers, spectators and everyone else in between. This year we gave away a TON of SWAG for such a bargain race! Runners picked up the annually sought after pair of ugly gloves, but also grabbed a stylish Strider buff, and 13.1 magnets and stickers! There were lots of smiles and even plenty of PR bell ringing too. It seems like it was nearly a perfect day for a great race.
A course record was even broken by the first place female finisher. Holly Nearman finished in 1:22:00 beating the previous record by one (1) second!! Congrats Holly!! Jenny Zwagerman and Andrea Berke rounded out the top three. females.
On the men’s side the Performance Running Outfitter racing swept the top three spots. Kyle Fraser repeated as race winner and as RRCA State Champion for the Half Marathon and was followed by Brice Cleland, and Scott Allen went 1,2,3 in the men’s field.
