Ice Age Registration Officially Opens 12/10/17Posted by Jeff Mallach
The Ice Age Trail 50 is one of the oldest, continuously running ultras in the United States. Held every year since 1982, the 50-mile and 50K courses follow the Ice Age National Scenic Trail through the Southern Kettle Moraine Forest, taking runners on a tour of the unique geologic features created by the last Ice Age 10,000 years ago. This diverse and beautiful landscape is known for its evergreen and deciduous forests, natural prairies, lakes, marshes, eskers and kettles. The terrain varies from wide, rolling trails to twisting, root and rock-covered single track. The Half Marathon is run on wooded cross country ski trails.
With plentiful aid stations, generous course markings and excellent volunteer support, the Ice Age 50 offers a great experience for both first time and veteran ultrarunners.
