Glacial Trail 50M 50K
Welcome to the 31st annual Glacial Trail run! This year’s race will be held on Sunday, October 8th. There are 50 kilometer and 50 mile distances, with both courses following the Ice Age trail in the Northern Kettle Moraine unit.
Important Update! Tom Bunk was a long-time key volunteer for the Glacial Trail Run who passed away in September 2014. A memorial fund has been established in Tom’s name to raise money for a heated shelter to be constructed at Scuppernong in the Southern Kettle Moraine State Forest. Please consider donating to this important project. Make checks out to “Tom Bunk Memorial”, and mail to:

The Glacial Trail Run takes place in the northern unit of the Wisconsin Kettle Moraine State Forest. The course is out and back for both races, and there will be a short section of road at the start (about 1/2 mile). The trails consist of rolling hills with some rocks, roots, and other normal trail obstacles. There are no sentries on the course and runners will need to cross several roads. Course markings will be as follows: Orange cones in town to the connector trail, blue blazes on posts for the connector trail to the Ice Age trail, yellow blazes on posts for the Ice Age trail. Signs will be placed where you get onto and exit the Ice Age trail, and we will add some yellow flagging at trail intersections. For the full couse description with photos, click here. It will be dark for the first few miles (about 40 minutes) of the 50 mile race, so those runners will need a flashlight/headlamp. There will be a drop box at the first AS to leave your light, or any other gear you might want to leave there.
